Riding Riding Riding!!

Awesome day for riding today! The weather was perfect, the mosquitoes were sleeping and the girls were calm and quiet!

Selene is getting so used to riding in her new saddle. Even trotted for the first time today! The trotting was making her feel a bit itchy though, and she was shaking lots and wanting to roll. I was trying to keep her moving, but I turned her pretty sharp, which was the perfect set up for her to lay down...which she did. Luckily I just moved right, and stood up without getting squished! She didn't roll, which was nice...didn't even get dust on the saddle, just stood back up. I promptly got back on, as I don't want her thinking she should lay down every time she thinks we've had enough!!

Greg and Josie did really well also. He rode her bareback, after just getting her relaxed and quiet, hanging out with her, laying on her etc. He rode her for about 20 minutes all together, with lots of petting and loving along the way. She is still pretty nervous and jumpy with a saddle, but apparently quite fine with the being ridden bareback!

Help Dare to Dream Horse Rescue Purchase a Horse Trailer!

The wonderful horse rescue where we purchased our beloved quarter horse fillies, Selene and Josie, is fund-raising to purchase a used horse trailer.

Up until now, if the owners of the rescue brought home rescued horses it was in a truck and trailer that they hired.

Having their own trailer will make it so much easier to transport new horses home from the auctions. It will also make it possible to take sick horses to the vet should the need arise!

Click the link below to visit the Dare2Dream Horse Rescue website! If you can, please make a donation via PayPal, or by mailing a cheque to the rescue! All the details are on their website!

Thanks for your support!!
